Vivartia, Greece's biggest food group, has come to a definitive agreement with the country's four systemic banks on the restructuring of its debts, which amount to 373 million euros.

The ministries of Finance and Environment have given their nod for the commercial utilization of the International Broadcasting Center, built for use during the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in Maroussi. The ministries have approved the activities that feature in Lamda Development's investment plan and the environmental terms, opening the way for the utilization of the entire property.

More than 20 firemen, aided by a water-dropping airplane and two helicopters, put out a blaze in a park in a residential part of northern Athens Friday afternoon. A fire that broke out in a park in the middle of a residential part of northern Athens on Friday afternoon was mostly doused after a few hours by 25 firemen, a water-dumping airplane and two helicopters.

One fireman was lightly injured and was transferred to a hospital as a precaution.

Athens prosecutor Ilias Zagoreos launched an investigation on Thursday into claims by residents of the area around the Pedion tou Areos park in downtown Athens regarding drug dealing and other criminal activities and a parallel probe into threats against an actress and mayor who have supported the residents' campaign. 

Greece concluded on Wednesday the sale of a 5 percent stake in its biggest telecoms operator OTE to Germany's Deutsche Telekom for 284 million euros, ($329.50 million) the privatizations agency said.

The sale was agreed under Greece's third international bailout.

Lamda Development is considering the creation of a major complex with a multitude of uses to complement the existing Golden Hall shopping center in Maroussi, northern Athens.

An Athens appeals court on Friday reduced to five years an eight-year prison sentence handed down to former PASOK minister Tasos Mandelis for money laundering and said it would allow him to pay off the fine.

Fraport Greece announced on Thursday it has upgraded the 14 regional airports it manages with services provided by leading telecommunications company Cosmote, which it claims substantially contribute to the uninterrupted and secure communications of the airports, the efficiency of the group's operations and optimal service for passengers.
