Almost 12,500 refugee children attending school in Greece
Almost 12,500 refugee children have attended Greek public schools this year, according to a UNESCO annual report that was presented on Thursday at a special event at the Education Ministry in Athens.
"The total number of registered refugee students at Greek public schools at this moment amounts to around 12,480," said Deputy Education Minister Meropi Tzoufi.
Athens signs MoU to help unaccompanied children refugees

Ministry seeks to stop Samos protest of migrant schooling
The Education Ministry's regional director for the northern Aegean, Aristidis Kalargalis, is due on Thursday to meet with the prosecutor of Samos to explore ways to stop a group of local parents from keeping pupils out of school in protest at the admission of migrant and refugee children from the island's camps.
Lena Headey draws attention to desperation at Moria
International Rescue Committee Voice Lena Headey is seen at the Moria camp on Lesvos on Tuesday. The "Game of Thrones" star urged EU leaders to find a solution to the crisis which has left thousands in limbo.
