Turkey is the NATO ally most exposed to violence and turmoil stemming from the Middle East and suffered a series of terrorist attacks, the NATO chief has stressed, vowing that the 29-nation alliance is committed to the defense of Turkey a day before his visit to the Turkish capital.

Regional and international security and the contribution to meeting NATO's goals were the topics Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu and his counterparts approached within the round of trilateral consultations of the foreign affairs ministers of Romania, Poland and Turkey, carried out over 18 -19 April in Ankara.

Romania's President Klaus Iohannis firmly supports NATO's unitary, consolidated and consistent presence all across its Eastern Flank.

A top NATO official on April 12 praised Turkey's hospitality towards refugees and hard work in the Middle East.       

Lawmakers, bureaucrats, military representatives and foreign mission chiefs from NATO member states will meet in Turkey's southern province of Antalya on April 12-14.
