Somalis anxiously waited to know the fate of their missing relatives on Sunday as emergency workers attempted to clear debris after a deadly 30-hour siege by Al-Shabaab jihadists at a hotel in the capital Mogadishu.
Turkey donates military vehicles to Somali National Army
The Somali National Army (SNA) received military vehicles, including trucks and ambulances, donated by Turkey on Nov. 16 as part of Ankara's support for the nation's military.
Senior military officials received the donation after a ceremony at the Turkish Embassy in the capital of Mogadishu.

Turkey on Feb. 21 expressed concern over unrest in Somalia as tension rises due to delayed elections in the country.
"We are concerned about the recent negative developments arising from the dispute over the election process in Somalia," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Turkish intel helps rescue abducted Italian aid worker
Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) helped rescue a kidnapped Italian aid worker in Somalia, state-run Anadolu Agency said on May 10.
Silvia Constanza Romano, who was working for an Italian charity called African Milele, was abducted in Kenya's southeastern coastal town of Chakama in Kenya in November 2018. No group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
3rd shipment of Turkish medical aid arrives in Somalia
Two Turkish military airplanes carrying a third batch of medical supplies to help Somalia fight coronavirus arrived in the
capital Mogadishu on May 4.
The shipment followed two previous batches of medical aid, including new Turkish-made ventilators last week.
Suicide bombing kills three, wounds over 20 in Somalia
At least three people were killed and 20 others, including Turkish nationals, injured after a suicide car bomb blast targeted a police convoy escorting Turkish contractors in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Jan. 18, said officials.
