Paddy Ashdown, one of the most notable High Representatives of the international community to Bosnia, has died in the UK aged 77 following a recent diagnosis of bladder cancer.

"If you want Milorad Dodik to do something, you will not get it done by bullying him from Brussels," says a former high representative for Bosnia.

Instead, Paddy Ashdown recently told an inquiry organized by the British Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee, "you get it done by getting his friends in Belgrade."

Paddy Ashdown, the former High Representative of the international community to Bosnia and Herzegovina until 2006, said the country was at a crossroads, and both Washington and Brussels had to act urgently to prevent further deterioration.

Dodik: RF not encouraging Serb entity to secede

VIŠEGRAD -- Milorad Dodik has said that Russia was not encouraging the Serb entity in Bosnia to secede, but instead "only seeks compliance with the Dayton agreement."

The former Croatian President on Friday is to propose a new Dayton-style agreement on Bosnia in Mostar, where he is due to deliver a speech.

Mesic's proposal involves Croatia initiating the main changes to the 1995 Dayton Ohio deal, which ended Bosnia's 1992-5 war.
