Greens and Reds both on a 1-1 series score
Both Panathinaikos and Olympiakos are now on a 1-1 score in their Euroleague playoff series, after the Greens defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday and the Reds went down at Barcelona on Friday.
At the Olympic Sports Hall in Athens, Panathinaikos bounced back from its four-point loss on Tuesday to win Game 2 with a 95-79 score.

PAO stadium on track
Athens Mayor Haris Doukas said on Friday that the new Panathinaikos stadium in the Votanikos district of Athens is on track and that the goal is to have it delivered by 2026.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Panathinaikos Athletic Club President Panagiotis Malakates, Doukas said the project is gaining momentum.

Greens finish second, Reds to face Barcelona
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos have achieved their objectives at the end of the regular season of the Euroleague, as their home wins this week have taken them to the second and fifth spot of the final standings, respectively.
The Greens defeated lowly Alba Berlin 84-75 and finished second only to holder Real Madrid, with 23 wins and 11 defeats after 34 games.

Euroleague: Reds and Greens win ahead of their clash
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos scored home wins in the Euroleague ahead of their all-Greek clash next week.
Olympiakos defeated Virtus Bologna 74-69 in Piraeus on Thursday to take another step toward a top-six finish in the regular season.
Reds and Greens stroll to comfortable Euroleague wins in Greece
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos scored comfortable victories at home in the first half of another double week in the Euroleague.
First up, the Reds put 101 past visiting Alba Berlin (101-87) at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Tuesday to improve their record to 13-11 and climb to the seventh spot.
Greens and Reds lose on the road
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos had difficult road games on Thursday in the Euroleague and both suffered losses, that should not matter too much come the end of regular season.
Panathinaikos went down 90-75 in Belgrade against Maccabi Tel Aviv for its ninth loss in 23 matches.

18-year-old hooligan confesses to attack against police officer in Rentis
An 18-year-old man confessed on Sunday to the assault against a 31-year-old police officer that occurred on Thursday night during a volleyball match between local rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in Rentis, Piraeus.
The police officer is currently in critical condition at the General State Hospital of Nikaia.
More losses for Panathinaikos and Olympiakos
Tuesday brought a second loss in a row for Panathinaikos and Olympiakos in the Euroleague, but while the Greens lost on the road to Efes, the Reds went down at home to Real Madrid.
In Turkey, Panathinaikos pushed Efes all the way but eventually succumbed with a 71-68 score.

Greeks improve their standing in the Euroleague
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos are gradually improving their position on the Euroleague table, thanks also to their wins at the start of another double week.
The Greens edged out visiting Zalgiris Kaunas in Athens with a 73-71 score in a very tight game that the Lithuanians very nearly snatched away from their hosts.

Government condemns attack on journalist by shipowner
The Greek government on Wednesday denounced an attack against a journalist by a ship owner during a football match in Athens.
Giorgos Papachristos, an opinion writer and adviser at the daily Ta Nea, was attacked on Tuesday evening after the end of the first half of the football match between Panathinaikos and Braga, in front of dozens of spectators.
