Ticket sales from Floyd Mayweather’s superfight with Irishman Conor McGregor failed to top the record set by the American’s 2015 bout with Manny Pacquiao, according to figures released by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday.

Floyd Mayweather’s Las Vegas super-fight with Conor McGregor is now less than two weeks away and it’s poised to become one of the most lucrative contests in history.

The contest has dominated the sporting headlines worldwide and has fight fans counting down the days until August 26 – but not everybody from the boxing world is happy with the bout.

The most anticipated fight of the century is fast approaching and the question of how to go about watching it is already being asked.

The fight is being shown in America exclusively live on Showtime Sports – but it will not come cheap.

American fights fans will have to pay £69.85 ($89.99) to watch in standard definition and £77.60 ($99.99) for HD.

On August 26, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are set to battle each other in the ring, but the bad blood between them began over two years ago when McGregor appeared on The Conan O’Brien Show, and O’Brien asked if he would ever consider taking on Mayweather.

The Super Bowl is annually the biggest betting event of the year in the U.S. This year, though, it may be eclipsed by a boxing match.
Kevin Bradley, the sports book manager of Bovada.lv, said betting on Mayweather-McGregor has been massive already.

Unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather will fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in a much-discussed boxing match on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, a well-placed source told Yahoo Sports on Wednesday.

Mayweather and McGregor both confirmed the fight on social media on Wednesday.
