400 Small Photovoltaic Plants in Bulgaria May Go Out of Business by October

Around 400 small photovoltaic plants built with EU funding face bankruptcy due to amendments to energy legislation adopted in July, according to reports of the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association (BPVA).

Industry representatives complained that the legal amendments reduced the price of the energy produced by them by around 80%.

The Netherlands on Nov. 12 unveiled the world's first solar bike path, a revolutionary project to harvest the sun's energy that could eventually also be used on roads.
      
The so-called "SolaRoad" bike path is made of concrete modules each measuring 2.5 by 3.5 metres (eight by 11 feet), embedded with solar panels covered in tempered glass.
      

Three arrested in Athens over energy investment scam

Police have arrested three suspects, aged 41, 45 and 47, and are seeking another three in connection with a scam run by individuals claiming to represent a company investing in photovoltaic energy and asking for start-up capital.

The gang, which was active in Athens, is believed to have made more than 600,000 euros in the phoney investment scheme from at least 17 people.
