Erdogan: Summit 'Important' For Ending Tragedy in Syria

The current summit between Turkey, Russia, and Iran is critical for bringing the tragedy in Syria to an end, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. 

"This trilateral summit is highly important for completely ending the bloodshed and tragedy that has been happening in Syria," Erdogan said.

Greek FM sees increased risk due to inexperienced Turkish combat pilots

The frequent violations of Greek air space by Turkish fighter jets, often flown by inexperienced or veteran pilots following a purge in the military by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, increases the risk of a military accident over the Aegean Sea, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said Thursday, adding however that Athens wants to strengthen ties between the two nations.

Russia set to lift barriers on Turkey within week

Trade and travel restrictions left over from a diplomatic spat with Turkey over a year ago will be lifted within a week, Russia's deputy prime minister said May 17, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.  

"Nearly 99 percent of the work has been completed," Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters in Russia's coastal town of Sochi.
