The Sea Between My Soul | December 20-29

"The Sea Between My Soul" is a multisensory rock musical by Raed Yassin, who uses taxidermied animals to commemorate the thousands of people who have perished in the Mediterranean Sea through the ages in a performance that fuses black humor with irony. It features vocals by Alan Bishop of the experimental rock outfit Sun City Girls.

The Hellenic American Union is hosting a series of screenings of contemporary Spanish cinema in an event aimed at showcasing the variety of its genres, themes and production value. This year's screening series comprises three fiction films and two documentaries, starting on Monday, November 4, with Elena Martin's 2017 "Julia Ist," a drama aimed audiences aged 12 and over.

Spanish Cinema | Athens | October 25 & 26

The Cervantes Institute and the Hellenic-American Union are showcasing contemporary Spanish cinema in a two-day mini-festival comprising four filmmaking debuts. The screenings will take place at the HAU, starting at 6 p.m. on both days, and will feature Greek subtitles only. Admission is free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessible Film Festival opens in Ankara

The 4th Ankara Accessible Film Festival, which presents all screenings and side activities accessible for visually impaired and hearing impaired film lovers, opened on May 24.

This year, the festival program once again offers modern and classic movies of Turkish and world cinema, as well as workshops and Q&A sessions with directors, actors and film crews.

A bilingual theatrical performance of Antigone, Sophocles was presented in Ancient Greek and in Greek sign language by Ecclesiastical Lyceum of the Rizarios School and the Junior and Senior High School of Agia Paraskevi for Speech-and-Hearing Impaired Students, under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.
