15-year restoration deadlock continues at Dracula’s dungeon in Tokat

After 15 years of stalled restoration efforts at Tokat Castle, believed to have once housed the notorious Dracula in its dungeons, the landmark still awaits completion of restoration works.

"The castle where Vlad Dracula was held captive is in [the Central Anatolian province of] Tokat," history researcher Aybike Gazioglü said.

Head-on collision kills 9 people, including 3 children

Following a deadly collision between a car and a small panel van on June 3 in the Central Anatolian province of Sivas, at least nine people, including three children, lost their lives, a senior official has said.

The accident occurred in the Gölova district on a road connecting Sivas to the Tokat province, according to Sivas Governor Salih Ayhan.

Library for baby and children

The Culture and Tourism Ministry opens Turkey's first Baby and Children's Library in the northern province of Tokat. The library is equipped with materials such as toys and touch books that will be used for visual reading periods of infants between the ages of zero and three years.

Water handicaps restoration work on 'Dracula' castle

Water coming out of a hidden tunnel has caused difficulty in the progress of the restoration work on Tokat Castle, also known as the "dungeon of Dracula."

The hidden tunnel, named "Ceylan Yolu," was discovered during the restoration work, which started in 2009, on Tokat Castle in the northern Anatolian province of Tokat.
