European tourists seek to avoid overcrowding

Europeans are increasingly choosing to travel to destinations or periods of the year with less crowds, as they seek better services, new experiences and lower prices.

As a result, July and August are apparently showing fewer projected arrivals compared to last year in popular destinations in Greece, such as Mykonos and Santorini.

Deadline for Attiki Odos offers extended to July 10

The deadline of binding offers for Attiki Odos, the capital's ringroad, has been extended to 5 p.m. on July 10, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) said on Tuesday.

The binding offers are part of the tender process for the award of a services concession agreement in relation to financing, operation, maintenance and utilization of Attiki Odos, TAIPED said.

Bus and trolley work stoppages on Wednesday

Bus and trolleybus workers will stage a new work stoppage for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, demanding safe and quality public transport. 

The work stoppage will last from the start of the shift until 9 a.m. and from 9 p.m. until the end of the shift. 

Buses will run normally on the routes assigned to the privately operated KTEL intercity buses.
