Police detain 23 PKK, 12 ISIL suspects

A total of 23 people were detained during operations against the PKK/KCK in the southern provinces of Mersin and Antalya on May 22, while Istanbul police nabbed 12 ISIL suspects.

The operations against the PKK were launched after a group calling themselves "children of fire" shared posts "to create chaos and fear" on social media, the gendarmerie said.

MİT ‘neutralizes’ senior PKK member in Iraq’s north

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized the PKK/KCK's communication chief during an operation in northern Iraq.

Emre Şahin, code-named Rodi, was found to write the programs used by the organization's communication system, including him in the list of "critical targets to be neutralized."

Erdoğan says Turkish forces killed ISIL chief in Syria

Turkish forces have killed the leader of the Islamic State group during an operation in Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said late on April 30. 

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told TRT Turk television in an interview that the ISIL leader, code-named Abu Hussein al-Qurayshi, was killed in a strike conducted on Saturday.

110 PKK/KCK suspects nabbed in 21 provinces

A total of 126 PKK/KCK suspects have been caught in the Diyarbakır-based operations carried out in 20 other provinces for providing financial and propaganda support to the organization.

The operations came after the teams learned that the suspects provided personnel and legal support to the terrorist organization and carried out nearly 60 street protests.
