Turkish incursion into northern Iraq

Turkish security forces have carried out an airstrike and "neutralized" five terrorists in the Hakurk region in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry announced on April 30.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan began a rare visit to Iraq on Monday aiming to reset ties between the Middle East neighbors by inking a raft of deals covering security cooperation against Kurdish PKK militants, energy and trade.

Turkish security forces have carried out an airstrike in northern Iraq, "neutralizing" 12 members of the PKK terrorist organization, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The airstrike took place in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq, targeting terrorists identified as operating on behalf of the PKK in the area, according to a written statement issued on April 15.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has "neutralized" a so-called leader of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in Syria, who was wanted under the "green category."

Security sources on March 22 revealed that the Turkish intel previously uncovered the terrorist activities and connections of Halil Tekin, code-named Seydo, before the operation in the Qamishli region.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has "neutralized" a senior terrorist responsible for the youth structure of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization in northern Iraq.

Turkish forces "neutralized" eight PKK terrorists in the operation zone in northern Iraq in response to an infiltration attempt by the terrorist organization into a military base, which resulted in the death of a Turkish soldier, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The ministry announced in a statement that Operation Winter Eagle was carried out against terrorist sites in the Derik, Sinjar and Karachak regions which are used as bases by the terrorists.
