‘Murder, She Wrote’ star Angela Lansbury dies aged 96

Actress Angela Lansbury, who became a household name through her role as a writer-detective in "Murder, She Wrote," died on Oct. 11, her family announced. She was 96.

The British-born star, who found fame and fortune as one of television's most memorable characters, was also a hugely successful and decorated stage and film actress.

Australian plane plot may have involved bomb or gas

Four men accused of plotting to bring down a plane planned to use poisonous gas or a crude bomb disguised as a meat mincer, reports said on July 31, with Australian officials calling preparations "advanced."

The men -- reportedly two Lebanese-Australian fathers and their sons -- were arrested in raids across Sydney on July 29 evening.
