US Supreme Court to hear Trump appeal of ballot ban

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed on Friday to hear Donald Trump's appeal of a ruling by Colorado's highest court that would keep him off the presidential primary ballot in the western state.

The conservative-majority Supreme Court, which includes three justices appointed by the former president, said it would hear oral arguments in the high-stakes election case on Feb. 8.

The end for Donald: Trump has been kicked out of the election race

Trump has been accused of inciting riots at the U.S. Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the result after he lost the 2020 US election. The Trump campaign said the Colorado ruling was "wrong" and would appeal to the US Supreme Court.
It comes after a Colorado court, all of whose judges were appointed by Democratic governors, removed Trump from the state's presidential race.
