Von der Leyen: Implementation of draft on municipalities in Pristina's interest

BRUSSELS - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday in Brussels implementation of a draft statute of a Community of Serb Municipalities was in the interest of Pristina and would be a "big step forward", while EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi noted that Pristina must redouble its efforts in making the dialogue with Belgrade successful.

A new window of opportunity to bring the Western Balkans closer to the EU?

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen vowed to bring the economies of the Western Balkans and the European Union 'closer' on Monday as she began a four-day tour of the region. Her plan includes a €6 billion investment package, to be delivered on condition the countries make reforms to open up their economies, overcome their conflicts and modernize their administrations.

BELGRADE - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Serbian PM Ana Brnabic in Belgrade on Tuesday to discuss an EU growth plan for the Western Balkans.

"I discussed Serbia's reforms in the context of the Growth Plan with the Serbian PM," von der Leyen wrote in a post on the social media network X.
