New repairs close sections of key boulevards in Sofia.

The reconstruction of "Vasil Levski" Blvd. from "Tsar Osvoboditel" Blvd. to the monument "Vasil Levski" started today.

By August 23, it is forbidden to enter with vehicles on the eastern half of the roadway. The movement will take place in the western half of the boulevard roadway.

The repairs on the streets of Sofia will continue after 15 September, BNR reported. The reason is the rainfall. This was said by Deputy Transport Mayor Evgeni Krusev, after yesterday Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova announced that the bad weather slowed the fulfillment of the deadlines by several days. Because of the rainfall in Sofia, repairs are delayed on average for five days.

The movement on part of the central Sofia street "GS Rakovski" will be stopped for repair. It will be partly forbidden to drive cars along Vasil Levski Blvd parallel to this street. Changes in traffic are due to the two major repairs in the center of the capital. They will also lead to a change in the urban transport routes, announced Sofia Municipality.

Continuous repair closes a part of the center of Sofia, bTV announced.

On Monday July 2 will begin the renovations in the center of Sofia between Alexander Nevski squares, National Assembly, Tsar Osvoboditel boulevards and Vasil Levski, Crystal garden and Moskovska Street. The repairs will end next year.

The square surrounding the cathedral will be a completely pedestrian area.

On July 1, at the peak of summer, when the temperatures are high, the Sofia Municipality will stop the movement of Tram No. 7 to repair the rails at Bulgaria Blvd and Ivan Evstatiev Geshov Boulevard. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Transport in Sofia Municipality, Evgeni Krusev, during the inspection of the repair works of the underpass under the crossing,  BGNES reported.

Today Bulgarian truck carriers will protest in Brussels against the social part of the Mobility Package 1, which will be voted in the European Parliament, said Vasil Pironkov, chairman of the National Association of Bus Carriers, who also has a heavy truck company, Darik reported. 

The police are looking for the parents of the two young children who had drawn swastikas on their bodies and made Nazi greetings at the match Levski - Slavia, Interior Minister Valentin Radev announced in parliament.

Heavy rainfall poured over Plovdiv around 2pm and in less than half an hour flooded a number of streets in the city, BGNES reported.

In some places the stretches are impassable by half a meter of water. Among the flooded boulevards is the renovated "Vasil Aprilov". The fire department reacted to dozens of alerts.

Today the prosecutor's office will give details of the detention of the mayor of the Sofia district Mladost, Desislava Ivancheva and her deputy Biliana Petrova.
