African swine fever detected in Serres
Veterinary inspectors have identified a case of African swine fever (ASF) in pig breeding farm in the Central Macedonian regional unit of Serres, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food has announced.
The ministry said national and regional veterinary teams have been sent to the area to deal with the case in line with EU and national legislation.

China reported its First Death from Bird Flu H3N8
China notified the World Health Organization (WHO) that a woman infected with H3N8 bird flu had died last month, DPA and Reuters reported.
This is only the third known case of human infection and the first fatality from this strain of bird flu.
The other two cases were also reported in China last April and May, the WHO said.

Tiger cub found in garbage put down, zoo announces
Hasija, the four-month-old white tiger cub found under a garbage bin outside Attica Zoological Park in late February, has been put down, the zoo has said.
In a post on Facebook, the zoo said that it had done everything possible to save the animal, the tiger's "serious incurable and painful genetic problems were incompatible with a basic quality of life and well-being."

The new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours are 139, according to the data of the Unified Information Portal.
1995 tests were done, which means that the proportion of positive results is about 7 percent.
Five patients with confirmed coronavirus infection have died.
Greece detects African swine fever in wild boar in Serres
Greece reported a case of African swine fever (ASF) at a breeding farm in the north of the country this week, agriculture ministry announced on Friday.
The virus was detected in a dead female wild boar in the municipal unit of Petritsi, in the region of Serres, it said.
