Minister visits migrant facility at Elliniko amid protests
Migration Minister Yiannis Mouzalas on Monday visited the state-run reception facility for migrants at Elliniko, south of Athens, amid reports that some of the residents against substandard conditions but was prevented from entering the site by protests.
Factories shut one after another
The rapid deindustrialization of the country has led to the shutdown of at least 18 production units in the last five years from 2012 to 2016.
The latest such incident was the termination of the Pepsico-Ivi plant at Viotia, central Greece, on October 31. Three months earlier, on August 2, listed wire and wire ropes producer Leventeris had shut down its plant near Volos.

Hungary adds "wooden barrier" to barbed wire border fence
Hungarian soldiers have started the construction of an additional four-meter high wooden barrier on the country's southern border with Serbia.
Serbian state broadcaster RTS reported on Sunday that a three-row barbed wire fence has already been built along the 175 kilometers of the border.
Migrants cut through Hungary's border fence
A group of 18 illegal migrants has cut through a wire fence that Hungary is building on its border with Serbia, the Hungarian M1 TV channel has reported.
The incident happened near the town of Asotthalom on Thursday when the migrants attempted to cross into Hungary, but were detained by the police.
