Zelensky: West Fears Both Russian and Ukrainian Defeat in Ongoing War

Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed to wreak "wrath" against Russian forces in 2024, hours before Ukraine saw attacks on the first day of the year.

Russia and Ukraine have seen an escalation in strikes in recent days, including an unprecedented assault on the Russian city of Belgorod that killed 24 people on Saturday.

The Ukrainian President said this at a joint press conference with Joseph Biden.
"We have already made significant progress. We have shown that our partnership is stronger than any Russian hostility," Zelensky said and stated that Ukraine had liberated 50 percent of the territories occupied by Russia.

Zelensky says Russian attacks increasing

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Russia was increasing its attacks across the front line, as Kiev called for the West to boost weapons supplies ahead of winter.

Neither side has made any significant territorial gain for months, but both Zelensky and the Kremlin have denied the conflict has ground to a stalemate.
