BELGRADE - The 12th anniversary of the assassination of first democratically elected Serbian prime minister Zoran Djindjic was marked in Belgrade on Thursday by a walk, lighting of candles and laying of flowers in front of the Serbian government building and the Alley of the Greats at Novo Groblje cemetery.

BELGRADE -- Serbian government members, led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, paid tribute to slain Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic early on Thursday.
They placed a wreath at a memorial plaque in the yard of the government building, in which he was assassinated on March 12, 2003.

BELGRADE - Former Serbian Prime Minister and Democratic Party leader Zoran Djindjic was assassinated 12 years ago today.
On March 12, 2003, Djindjic was shot through the heart in the yard of the government building, and his bodyguard was wounded.
