NDS deputy group formed in Vojvodina parliament

NOVI SAD - The deputy group of the New Democratic Party (NDS), founded by the former honorary president of the Democratic Party (DS) Boris Tadic ahead of the snap elections on March 16, was formed today in the Vojvodina parliament.

Out of the five deputies in the new parliamentary group, four were until recently DS members, and one comes from the ranks of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina (DSHV), which was part of a DS-led coalition in the previous parliamentary election in the province.

"We have not gathered to bring anyone down, but we are not here to support anyone a priori either," said NDS party whip Milos Gagic, adding that his aim is to promote his party's policies in the Vojvodina parliament.

He admitted, however, that potential talks on NDS participation in the future government of Serbia will affect its support to the current provincial government.
