Davutoglu, Ugljanin, Dzudzevic discuss position of Bosniaks

BELGRADE – Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held talks with Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak (SDA Sandzak) leader Sulejman Ugljanin and acting head of the Bosniak National Council Esad Dzudzevic in Belgrade Wednesday.

The officials expressed support for cooperation and good relations between Serbia and Turkey and for establishing good trilateral relations between Serbia, Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina, which they qualified as being of vital interest to the Bosniak people in Serbia, the Bosniak National Council said in a release.

The meeting also touched on the upcoming elections for the new composition of the Bosniak National Council, ways to achieve the necessary national consensus on the issue, support from the Turkish government and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), and specific projects in the areas of protection and development of national, ethnic and cultural identity of Bosniaks in Serbia.

One of the topics discussed was the issue of schooling in the Bosnian language in the region of Sandzak, the release said.
