Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic for Blic about meeting with German Chancellor Merkel sees Serbia in EU

I have to admit that the meeting with German Chancellor was unexpectedly outstanding, the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told the Blic about his yesterday’s meeting with Angela Merkel.

The Prime Minister adds that during mutual meeting, but also during face to face talk with Angela Merkel that lasted 45 minutes ‘there was not a single problem’, although topics such as reforms in Serbia and Kosovo were also talked about.

- My general impression after these talks is that Chancellor Merkel really views Serbia as a member of the EU and that she has no dilemma that our country shall become a part of the EU. I am very proud that I was in Berlin representing Serbia and that Serbia was treated there in a friendly manner – Vucic points out.

We asked him if there had been anything that he had been afraid of to appear as a problem during talks with Angela Merkel.

- I was afraid that Chancellor Merkel perhaps was not going to have understanding for the specific situation in Serbia, but that has not happened – Vucic replied.

Investments

The meeting with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced stable relations between the two countries and larger investing in Serbia if Belgrade fulfils concrete expectations.

- I am glad that the new Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has visited Berlin. We had thorough discussion about perspectives of and situation in Serbia.
