"I have proposed a concrete calendar. Until the end of the first parliamentary session we have agreed to have a legislative solution to ensure the vote of the Romanians abroad, the legislation regarding local and parliamentary elections, the parties' legislation and the legislation regarding party and election campaign funding," said the head of state, at the Cotroceni Palace.

President Iohannis mentioned that finalizing these projects on time is a commitment that the parties make not in relation to him, but to the electorate.

Furthermore, he claimed that all the premises exist for a legislative solution to be passed at the shortest in the case of simplifying the procedures regarding requests made by the judiciary branch to Parliament.

"Following discussions several joint conclusions resulted, which shows us we are on the right track. Firstly, all parties have expressed their availability to support the simplification of procedures for the requests to allow detainment, arrest or searches on MPs in order to allow the judiciary to do its job. All the premises exist for a legislative solution in this sense be adopted at the shortest, [which] including in light of the CVM [Cooperation and Verification Mechanism] report adopted today, and besides the immediate consequences, would thus show the sign of the political will that everybody expects," Iohannis pointed out.
