Mayor: Works on Belgrade Waterfront by end of summer

BELGRADE - Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali expressed the expectation on Monday that the construction of the Belgrade Waterfront could begin by the end of summer.

I expect that the expropriation process would be completed as soon as possible after the adoption of the expropriation law in the Serbian parliament so that construction could be launched by the end of summer, Mali told reporters.

It is important that the project, and the future of Belgrade and Serbia as well, are launched as soon as possible so that we could create jobs for our economy and construction industry, he said.

The debate on the draft law on expropriation should begin in the Serbian parliament on Tuesday.
