Counterfeiters Nabbed in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia

Bosnia's State Investigative and Protection Agency, SIPA, arrested three persons after raids in six locations in the north of Bosnia, searching for the people behind the illegal production of various documents.

The alleged counterfeiters are also being arrested in Croatia as part of a months-long investigation in the two countries focusing on activities committed from 2013 to 2015.

SIPA on Tuesday said the suspects "made and sold various falsified documents such as passports, identity cards, driving licenses, as well as police badges and official legitimation documents of police agencies, intelligence services and military-security services".

While three people were arrested in Bosnia, the Croatian authorities have taken in another eight, the Bosnian Prosecutor's Office said.

"During raids in Croatia, a certain amount of falsified documents was found, including falsified official police documents," the Bosnian Prosecutor's office said.

SIPA also said that one other person was arrested in Serbia.
