Election silence begins ahead of repeat elections

BELGRADE - Election silence began at midnight in Serbia ahead of the repeat elections scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 15 polling stations across the country.

The election silence ends on May 4 at 8 pm, with preliminary results to be announced on Wednesday evening, the central electoral commission has announced.

The elections will be repeated at five polling stations in Nis, two in Vranje and Jagodina and one in Backa Topola and Sremski Karlovci, respectively.

Repeat elections will also take place at one polling station in Uzice, Kladovo and Belgrade's Palilula and New Belgrade municipalities, respectively.

There are a total of 19,631 registered voters, with 0.5 percent - or 19,729 - of spare ballots being printed.
