Besiktas hand Partizan first defeat of season

ISTANBUL - Partizan Belgrade have suffered their first defeat of the season after losing to Besiktas Istanbul 77-62 (21-16, 14-15, 25-14, 17-17) on the road in a Group E, Round 2 game of the FIBA Basketball Champions League late Wednesday.

Michael Roll led the scoring for the Turkish team with 16 points and Serbia national team member Vladimir Stimac added 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Stefan Bircevic was the top scorer for Partizan with 15 points, followed by William Hatcher with 13 and Adin Vrabac and Branislav Ratkovica with 9 points each.

Partizan will next face Polish team Zielona Gora.
