Snowboarder Košir wins bronze in Carezza

Cortina d’Ampezzo – Snowboarder Žan Košir won bronze in the parallel giant slalom in a World Cup race in Italy’s Carezza on Thursday to return to the podium after almost a year. Austria celebrated a double victory with Benjamin Karl in first and Andreas Prommegger in second place.

This is the 19th World Cup podium finish for Košir, three-time Olympic medallist, and the 70th for the Slovenian team.

“I’m very happy with this podium result. It’s been more than a year since I was last in the top three. We obviously did a good job in the summer. Thank you, team,” said Košir.

Another Slovenian competitor, Tim Mastnak, finished ninth. Slovenia had no representative in the women’s category.
