Tim Farčnik elected to biathlon federation executive board

Salzburg – Slovenia’s Tim Farčnik has been appointed to the executive board of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) at their 15th Ordinary Congress in Salzburg, Austria, the Slovenian Ski Association (SZS) said.

Farčnik will join five other members of the executive board in the 2022-2026 period.

He received the second highest number of votes among 14 candidates vying for six seats.

“I’m happy that, after getting a representative in the International Ski Federation, the SZS now also has a representative in the International Biathlon Union,” he said after the election, adding he was looking forward to doing his part to further develop biathlon, a sport “that has a bright future”.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Olle Dahlin was unanimously re-elected IBU president on Saturday.
