Djokovic beats Hurkacz at ATP Finals but needs Sinner win to qualify for semis

TURIN - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, defeated Pole Hubert Hurkacz 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-1 in an ATP Finals Green group third round match in Turin on Thursday but now needs a Jannik Sinner victory over Dane Holger Rune to qualify for the semi-finals.

Djokovic won after two hours and six minutes of play and is now 7-0 head-to-head against Hurkacz, a stand-in for injured Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Previously, Djokovic defeated Rune in the first round but lost to Italy's Sinner in the second.
