Serbia at Cannes Film Festival

BELGRADE - Serbia will be presented by the movie entitled Leto bez meseca (Moonless Summer) directed by Stefan Ivancic in the official selections of this year's Cannes Festival.

The movie was produced by the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the Belgrade-based Non-Aligned Films and it will be displayed as part of Cinefondation program on May 21.

Barroso urged Samaras and Venizelos to block Papandreou's referendum, reports FT


European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso spoke to Antonis Samaras and Evangelos Venizelos in private in November 2011 and encouraged them to block George Papandreou’s proposal for a referendum on Greece’s euro membership, a Financial Times report claimed on Monday.

Five Serbia cities among 10 European cities of future

BELGRADE - The magazine fDi Intelligence has included 5 Serbian cities in its list of top 10 European cities and regions of the future, and it also presented officials of those cities with awards in Cannes, France.

The awards were given out to Zajecar, Zrenjanin, Sremska Mitrovica, Ruma and Vranje. They were picked out of a pool of 468 cities in Europe.

Belgrade on Water the greatest development opportunity

BELGRADE - The Belgrade on Water project is the city's greatest development opportunity and the most significant infrastructure project in the country, the head of the Belgrade Interim Authority Sinisa Mali has said.

"The presentation of the project at the real estate fair in Cannes was an outstanding opportunity for us," the Belgrade city administration quoted Mali as saying.
