Romania Gets New Foreign Minister

President Traian Basescu on Monday approved the nomination of Bogdan Aurescu for the post of Foreign Minister.

Aurescu, 41, is a career diplomat who has been working for the Romanian Foreign Ministry since 1996. His main achievement was coordinating Romania's team in the case against Ukraine on maritime delimitation in the Black Sea, which was concluded in 2009.

Pressure all on Juve, says Olympiakos manager Michel

Olympiakos coach Michel heaped the pressure on Juventus after underlining the Italian giants' need for a home win in their Champions League Group A clash in Turin on Tuesday.

Spokesperson of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Alina Gorghiu claims that Premier Victor Ponta, who is also running in the presidential election under the PSD-PC-UNPR banner, "defied" the Romanians in Italy and Spain and used the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department for Romanians Everywhere in his campaign.

TAROM introduces additional flights on four of its existing routes

TAROM Airlines, in a release to AGERPRES on Thursday, informed that it is going to introduce an additional number of flights, during the 2014-2015 winter season, on four of its already existing routes.

Thus, the Bucharest-Rome-Bucharest route will have two extra flights added, reaching thus to six weekly flights.

Yugoslavia's first medal-winning swimmer dies

BELGRADE - Esa Ligorio-Djurovic, a former member of the Yugoslav national swimming team, has died in Belgrade at 81.

A multiple-time national champion, she was a record holder and the winner of Yugoslavia's first medal at major competitions.

Ligorio-Djurovic won the bronze medal in 400 metres freestyle at the 1954 European Championships in Turin.
