Cost of average consumer basket in December at RSD 65,025
BELGRADE - The price of the average consumer basket in Serbia in December 2013 totalled RSD 65,025 or 1.28 average wages while the minimum consumer basket totalled RSD 33,919 or 0.67 average wages, the data of the Ministry of Trade show.
Vucic opens new ComTrade software development centre
KRAGUJEVAC - Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic opened in Kragujevac on Tuesday the new ComTrade software development centre which employs 200 young experts.
Vucic promised that the government will try to provide assistance in IT development.
NCR Corporation plans to expand activities in Serbia
BELGRADE - Representatives of the U.S.-based National Cash Register (NCR) Corporation announced in the talks with Ivica Dacic, Serbia's outgoing prime minister, on Wednesday that the Corporation plans to extend its activities in Serbia and invest an additional USD 320 million in the next four years.
Jankovic to face Serena Williams in quarterfinals
DUBAI - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic beat Czech Republic's Lucy Safarova 7-5 6-4 on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Dubai.
The match lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes, with Jankovic coming out on top after a great struggle and a lot of ups and downs in her game.
She will now face Serena Williams from the US, who is the top seed in Dubai.

SRS starts election campaign in Kosovska Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and movements Obraz and Nasi started their election campaign for Serbia's early parliamentary elections with a rally in Serb-dominated north Kosovska Mitrovica.
Nemanja Sarovic, SRS deputy president, underlined that this coalition is the only one that started its election campaign in Kosovo-Metohija.

BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic met on Wednesday with a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe tasked with observing the election in Serbia.
Dacic believes the snap parliamentary poll will be well organized and fair.

Night of Museums to take place on May 17
BELGRADE – This year’s Night of Museums will take place under the motto “Great time in museums” on Saturday, May 17, Night of Museums Art and Production Group said in a release on Wednesday.
The 11th Night of Museums in Serbia is part of the European Night of Museums, which will unveil over 30 countries and 3.200 museums and cultural institutions across Europe.

Making Serbia Part of the Picture
The Serbian film Commission, SFC, has mapped out 160 locations suitable for filming as part of a bid to attract more producers of feature films, TV shows and commercials to Serbia.
The project, financed by the European Union and the Austrian Agency for Development, includes 34 municipalities and cities connected to the river Danube.
