Greek Strike Diverts Routes of Two Trains Moving Between Sofia and Thessaloniki

In relation to the announced three-day strike (May 30, May 31, and June 1) in Greece, the routes of two trains travelling between Bulgaria and Greece will be temporarily changed.

These will be the morning fast train from Thessaloniki to Sofia, as well as the afternoon fast train from Sofia to Thessaloniki, the press centre of Bulgarian State Railways BDZ announced.

Bulgarian President to Convene National Security Council Today

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will convene a meeting of the National Security Advisory Council (KSNS) today, it was reported by NOVA Tv.

The Advisory Body at the Presidency will meet for the first time since Rumen Radev stepped into office into office.

Transport Workers Gather at Kulata Checkpoint to Protest, No Border Blockade

Several dozen of carriers and drivers gathered at Kulata Border Crossing (Bulgaria's border with Greece) on 29th of May for the  protest readiness announced by the Union of Transport Workers. They insist on facilitating the border crossing of lorries, as they now have to wait for hours to cross into Greece, quoted by the BNT.

Plovdiv to Host 56th National Archaeological Conference

As of May 29th, Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv hosts the 56th National Archaeological Conference. It will be held at the Regional Archaeological Museum in the city and will continue until May 31st, according to the Bulgarian National Television.

Bulgarians Traveled Mostly to Italy and Greece in April

In April 2017, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 548.8 thousand or by 17.7% above the registered in April 2016, according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Moody's: Bulgaria Credit Rating with Stable Outlook

The international credit rating agency Moody's has confirmed Bulgaria's credit rating with a stable outlook, quoted by BNR.

The agency expects to see the economy grow 2.9% this and next year.

Provided the budget is balanced and the government debt reaches pre-crisis levels, Moody's may raise Bulgaria's credit rating.

Today it will be mostly sunny in the country, with clouds expected to develop in the afternoon.

In some places, mainly in the southern half of Bulgaria, there will be short rain, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

There will be light northeastern wind. Temperatures will slightly increase, maximum temperatures will vary between 20° and 25°.

Bulgaria's External Debt Lowest as of Decade

Statistics of the Central Bank shows that in the end of March 2017 Bulgaria's external debt was at its lowest since 2009, reaching its lowest level over the past decade as GDP ratio, announced  BNR.

It was EUR 34.2 bln end-March, shrunk by EUR 130M on March 2016 - to 70.2% of GDP.
