Austrian police have said that the number of attempts to smuggle illegal migrants into the country has increased since the Western Balkan migration route was closed to migrants earlier this year.

The sunny spell in the Greek weather will see a brief break for a day, as the Greek Meteorological Services issued a severe weather warning forecast with heavy rain falls, local storms and a few hailstorms expected to hit regions in northern and western Greece from Monday evening, including the Ionian islands, the Epirus region, Macedonia and Thrace.
Serbia Goes to Polls in Series of Elections
Voters in Serbia on Sunday choose new national and provincial parliaments as well as the largest number of local asemblies.
In the parliamentary elections, 20 political lists with a total of 3,270 candidates will be competing for 250 seats.
Some 15 election lists are taking part in the race for 120 seats in the assembly of the autonomous northern province of Vojvodina.
FYROM choppers violate Greek air space
Two helicopters of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) illegally entered the Athens Flight Information Region twice on Thursday and conducted overflights above Aridaia in the Pella region, the National Defense General Staff (GEETHA) said in a statement.
The helicopters, it said, were intercepted according to international procedures.
Refugee hit by police car in Greek camp dies
A Syrian refugee, who was hit by a police car at Idomeni camp on the Greece-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) border sparking riots, died of his injuries, hospital officials confirmed Saturday.
The 40-year-old Kurd, who had been living with his family for more than two months at the squalid camp, died of head injuries on Thursday, the officials said.
Rival Rallies end Peacefully in Macedonia Capital
Macedonian police prevented rival rallies in Skopje from coming to blows on Thursday night amid fears that political tensions in the country could spiral out of control.
The anti-government rally was organized by the civil movement "Protestiram" ["I Protest"] and supported by the opposition Social Democrats, SDSM.
