Trade unions choose not to organize protests on Labor Day

Trade unions decided not to organize protest rallies on May 1, Labor Day in Serbia, due to the fact the holiday coincided with this year's Orthodox Easter.

However, they issued statements announcing their "continued struggle for the rights of workers and their improved standard of living."

Huge fire destroys Church in Manhattan (video+photos)

A huge fire broke out and burin to the ground the Serbian Orthodox Church of ‘Agios Savvas’, Sunday, in Manhattan, New York. Images show the devastation, as huge flames have engulfed the temple completely destroying the church. 170 fire fighters and tens of fire engines tried to extinguish the flames and contain the fire.

Orthodox Serbians celebrate Easter

Serbia celebrated Easter with midnight liturgies between Holy Saturday and Ressurection Sunday, and with liturgies during the day in Orthodox churches.

OSCE: Election process in Kosovo was regular

PRISTINA - Last Sunday's Serbian early parliamentary elections were conducted in Kosovo in a regular, incident-free manner, says Senad Sabovic, spokesman of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in Kosovo.

RIK begins recount of votes from 99 polling stations

BELGRADE - Serbia's central electoral commission RIK on Thursday began a recount of votes from 99 polling stations at which there had been found to be "grave errors" during the April 24 elections.

"The recount is under way, at 99 polling stations," RIK president Dejan Djurdjevic told Tanjug.
