Mayors on list of ‘wealth hiders’


Members of Parliament’s ethics and transparency committee have been given a list including dozens of mayors and other high-ranking local authority officials who are accused of having submitted inaccurate declarations regarding their sources of wealth (“pothen esches”), judicial sources revealed over the weekend.

Nigerian national caught with 1.1 kilos of heroin at Athens Airport


A 38-year-old Nigerian national was arrested by officers of the Attica narcotics squad at Athens International Airport on Saturday on charges of attempting to smuggle 1.1 kilos of heroin into Greece.

The suspect, who was traveling from Uganda via Istanbul, was found to be carrying 72 parcels of the drug in his stomach.

Delibasic transferred to custody in Kosovska Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Dragoljub Delibasic, former police chief in the Serb-majority northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, has been transferred from custody in Pristina to a detention unit in Mitrovica, Irina Gudeljevic, spokeswoman for the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), said Saturday.

Gudeljevic told Tanjug that the transfer was conducted late on Friday.

Klitschko to Run for Kiev Mayor, Not Interested in Presidency

Former Ukrainian heavyweight boxer and current politician Vitali Klitschko will run for mayor of Kiev instead of president.

At the end of February, Klitschko announced that he would compete for the country's top post at the May 25 elections, however he has now changed his plans, according to Interfax agency.
