Members of far-left groups attacked an official of the extreme-right Golden Dawn party in a square in the city of Iraklio, Crete, on Thursday after protesting outside a regional council meeting where the "Macedonia" name question was being discussed.

The church and the state of Athens have fought for the name dispute of Macedonia. The disagreements between spiritual and civilian power have come to an exchange of messages through the media. And the government accused the Holy Synod of interfering in its politics.
