Ruling party hogs talk show airtime on state TV in 2017
Officials from ruling SYRIZA took up 49 percent of airtime on talk shows hosted by Greece's private and public television stations in 2017, National Broadcasting Council (ESR) data show, with state channel ERT giving the leftist party 61.2 percent of its panel time.
Conservatives lead in Greek poll with 9.5 percent
New Democracy maintains a 9.5 percent lead over ruling SYRIZA, according to a new poll of voter intentions, conducted by the Pulse company on behalf of Skai TV and published on Thursday.
More specifically, 31.5 percent of those polled said they would vote for the conservatives against 22 percent for SYRIZA.

Poll gives ND 11 percent lead over ruling SYRIZA
A new public opinion poll gives New Democracy an 11 percent lead over ruling SYRIZA, with 29.9 percent of respondents saying they would vote for the conservative party if elections were held now, against 19 percent who voiced support for the incumbent leftists.

Poll puts conservatives ahead of ruling SYRIZA by 9.5 points
Greece's conservative opposition maintains a strong lead over the ruling leftist party, according to a new opinion poll published Thursday.
The survey by Pulse for Skai TV showed that New Democracy would get 28.5 percent of the vote if elections were held now, versus 19 for Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's SYRIZA party.

Protesters belonging to PAME, a union associated with the Greek Communist Party (KKE), try to bring down a statue of former US president Harry Truman in central Athens Monday during a demonstration against air strikes on Syria by the USA, UK and France. Another protester tried to chop off the statue's feet using an angle grinder before riot police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

KKE protesters try to take down Truman statue
Greek communist party (KKE) supporters tried to take down a statue of former US president Harry Truman in Athens on Monday during a protest against air strikes on Syria by the United States, Britain and France, Reuters reports. Protesters used a metal grinder to try to cut off the statue's feet and tug it down with ropes before riot police intervened and fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.
