Turkish police detain two over attack on nationalist party office in Istanbul

Turkish police detained two people allegedly involved in an attack on the election bureau of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in Istanbul's Sar?yer district, a security official said April 19.

A group of people came to the area in cars and threatened MHP supporters in the area at noon. MHP supporters called the police following the groups' threats. 

HDP headquarters attacked by unidentified assailants

Unidentified assailants have fired on the headquarters of Turkey's Kurdish problem-focused Peoples' Democracy Party (HDP) in Ankara.

Although no casualties were reported, two bullet holes were visible on the sign at the entrance of the party headquarters in the Çankaya district after the attack on early April 18, Do?an News Agency reported.

Turkish Airlines Basel flight diverted back to Istanbul due to hoax

A Turkish Airlines (THY) plane flying from Istanbul to Basel was diverted as an emergency measure on April 17 in the third bomb scare on a THY flight in less than a month.

The plane changed its route and returned while in Bulgarian airspace to return to Istanbul Atatürk Airport, according to Do?an News Agency.

Lubitz, who reportedly suffered from depression, locked his captain out of the cockpit and deliberately steered the Airbus A320 into the French Alps on March 24, killing all 150 passengers and crew on board.
