TACK | Athens | April 23

Catch "TACK" at the Onassis Cultural Center on April 23 at 8.30 p.m. Directed by Greek-British filmmaker Vania Turner, the documentary follows Olympic champion Sofia Bekatorou and young sailing champion Amalia Provelengiou in Greece's #MeToo movement. A Q&A with the director will follow. 

Crime and Punishment | Athens | March 22 – April 23

After successful takes on "Of Mice and Men" and "The Red Lanterns," director Vasilis Bisbikis tackles the great Russian novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky and sets the action in the modern-day Greek capital. "Crime and Punishment: Athens" explores the impact of a crime and its avengement in a gritty urban setting in 2023.

The Onassis Cultural Center presents a fascinating and thought-provoking exhibition on the evolution of our understanding of data, space and cities from the 1960s to the present, starting off with an exploration of the work of celebrated Greek architect and city planner Apostolos Doxiadis and his early use of computers.

Matchbox | Athens | To January 22

The Onassis Cultural Center (Onassis.org) is extending the run of the musical stage adaptation of Yiannis Economides' "Matchbox," to January 22. The critically acclaimed 2002 drama blows open the Pandora's box of the classic Greek family, the "good neighbor" and the closely knit community.

In the Solitude of Cotton Fields | Athens | February 9-12

Widely acclaimed American actor John Malkovich and Lithuania's award-winning Ingeborga Dapkunaite are coming to the Onassis Cultural Center (onassis.org) with French dramatist and writer Bernard-Marie Koltes' play "In the Solitude of Cotton Fields," in the first stop on its international tour after premiering in Riga last May.

I Am (VR) | Athens | To January 8

Inspired by the Delphi Oracle aphorism "know thyself," acclaimed theater director Susanne Kennedy and multimedia artist Markus Selg, in collaboration with interdisciplinary artist Rodrik Biersteker, present "I Am (VR)" at the Onassis Cultural Center (onassis.org), for just a few more days.

The Sea Between My Soul | December 20-29

"The Sea Between My Soul" is a multisensory rock musical by Raed Yassin, who uses taxidermied animals to commemorate the thousands of people who have perished in the Mediterranean Sea through the ages in a performance that fuses black humor with irony. It features vocals by Alan Bishop of the experimental rock outfit Sun City Girls.
