An informal meeting of the EU Environment Ministers is held in the National Palace of Culture. In the first session of today's meeting, participants discussed opportunities to improve air quality.

Bregovo (North-West Bulgaria, near the border with Serbia) remains in a state of emergency because of the risk of flooding. The level of Timok River has dropped by several centimetres, but the groundwater level has risen. Powerful hydropump is used for draining the water, reported BNT. 

The supremacy of justice and corruption is not just a problem for Bulgaria. She joined the protests against the construction of Pirin last night and today will check the situation on the spot and talk to the residents of Bansko.

The 21st European Eco-innovation Forum is held today and Tuesday in Sofia Tech Park.

The Forum is organized jointly by the Directorate General for Environment of the European Commission and the Ministry of Environment and Waters. The event will be accompanied by a new protest action in defense of Pirin National Park.

Protests in support of Pirin National Park continue. 

 Runners from 10 of the cities which protest will run over 440 km.

Today's protest is expected to involve people over 20 cities from Bulgaria and abroad.

A protest against the decision of the Razgrad municipal councilors to send the rescued lions Theresa and Maxwood to the zoo in Pazardjik is organized by the Four Paws and the Wildlife Foundation on Tuesday.

Environmentalists conduct a symbolic action in front of the building of the Council of Ministers. They give a jar of fresh air from Pirin to the prime minister and the ministers. With this symbolic gift, they will formally remind their requests to cancel the government's decision to change the Pirin Park management plan.

Thousands gathered for the fifth consecutive protest in defense of the Pirin Nature Park in Sofia tonight. The protest procession went from Nezavisimost Square to the Council of Ministers building and continued to Orlov Bridge.

Climber Boyan Petrov will submit to the MOEW an amended version of the decision of the Council of Ministers of 28 December on the management plan for Pirin National Park. It will explicitly state that only the construction of a second cableway in Bansko is allowed.

Against the backdrop of the protests in protection of Pirin and the disputes over the future of Vitosha ski area, in the last few days, another scandal, in the bottom of which is the environmental minister Neno Dimov, is gaining momentum.
