Ljubljana – Preparations for the 2020 Dubai Expo are going as planned despite the pandemic, Omar Shehadeh, chief international participants officer for the Expo 2020 Dubai told the STA in an interview. He said every participating country would have a pavilion of its own for the first time ever and that he was excited about Slovenia’s contribution.

Construction on a Greek Orthodox church to replace one that was crushed in the Sept. 11 attacks has been temporarily suspended amid rising costs and questions over how donations have been managed.

A Greek Orthodox church taking shape next to the World Trade Center memorial plaza will glow at night like a marble beacon when it opens sometime next year. It also will mark another step in the long rebuilding of New York's ground zero.

Benaki Museum will inaugurate the Reconstruction of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at Ground Zero by Santiago Calatrava on Thursday, Sept. 24, and exhibition that will last until Oct. 25.

The exhibition will present sketches, drawings, plans, photographs and audiovisual material.
