Turkey has limit to migration burden: AKP spokesperson

Turkey has a limit to the burden it will carry on migration, according to a statement by the spokesman for Turkey's AKP.

Ömer Çelik criticized the European Union at a news conference late on June 29 for "reducing the issue of migration to merely financial aid," which he viewed as "a lack of vision, unsustainable in the long run, a grave mistake."

Man plotted to kill wife who wanted divorce with grenade

A man has plotted to kill his wife, who wanted a divorce, with a bomb he hung on the door of her family's house in the Ürgüp district of the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir.

Bayram Çelik, 32, reportedly tried burning her house and the car before and shot bullets at her car in the past.

Ankara hails anti-racist protests in US

Turkey's ruling party spokesman on June 3 hailed demands for equality as anti-racist protests continue in the country after the killing of African-American man George Floyd. 

Turkey is against all groups trying to turn legitimate protests in the US violent and bring public order under their destructive influence, said Ömer Çelik, spokesman for the AKP, after a party board meeting.
