Bulgarian Culture Presented in Exhibition, Festival in Doha

Bulgaria's rich folklore heritage and cultural diversity will be presented as part of the Pendara Ethno Project in Qatar's capital of Doha on March 4-5, 2016, Gulf Times announced on February 20.

The two-day Bulgarian festival, dubbed Discover Bulgaria in Doha, will offer to the Middle Eastern audience traditional Bulgarian dishes and authentic Bulgarian music.

Qatar has launched an investigation after heavy rains exposed poor construction in a country set to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a deluge that saw water cascade through the roof of its $15 billion main airport.

The country has also banned contractors from leaving the small, oil-rich country as it carries out a probe into how heavy rains damaged buildings and roadways.

Doha, the Qatari capital getting ready to host a controversial 2022 World Cup, will be under close watch, with a giant surveillance system handed to the state by Proline, a Turkish developer, and Turkish-made boats guarding beaches.

The company executives have worked on the project for years in close cooperation with the Qatari Interior Ministry.
