Excavation works in ancient Karkamış end
A Turkish-Italian team has completed the first part of their seven-season-long excavation works in an ancient site in the town of Karkamış, located in the province of Gaziantep on the Turkish-Syrian border, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on July 14.

Turkey Announces End of Euphrates Shield in Syria
Turkish PM Binali Yıldırım has announced the end of the military operation Euphrates Shield in neighbouring Syria, reported Reuters.
In an interview for NTV TV channel, the PM stated that the operation has been a success and has led to gaining full control of the city of al-Bab. He added that if a future Turkish military operation becomes necessary it will be under a different name.

One soldier wounded in Syria succumbs to injuries
A Turkish soldier, who has been wounded in northern Syria during Operation Euphrates Shield, was killed on Dec.17 in Turkey's southeastern province of Gaziantep, military sources said.

300 Turkish commandos to join Operation Euphrates Shield
A total of 300 Turkish commandos will join Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield, according to a military source, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The special troops of the 11th Command Brigade departed from the Çardak Military Airport in the western province of Denizli, said a source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Turkey's top soldier pays Eid visit to border posts in Gaziantep
Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar paid a visit to border posts in the Karkamış district in the southern province of Gaziantep on Sept. 12 to celebrate Islam's holy Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) holiday with soldiers amid the ongoing Euphrates Shield Operation in Syria.
Why is the US opposing a no-fly zone in Syria?
Turkey has launched its "Euphrates Shield" military operation under a certain consensus with Russia, Iran and the United States. It is conducting the operation through the same consensus.
Due to this, Turkey has been able to remove the terrorist formation, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), from its border.

Are there any Turks aware of what Süleyman ?ah's tomb on the bank of Euphrates, the sole Turkish territory cut off from the mainland, who could say right away that s/he was pleased with the "relocation" of the tomb?
