With a declining birth rate in Greece of 1.34 per woman, according to 2012 World Bank data, the news that over 30,000 Greek teenage girls under 16 perform abortions every year, according to the Greek Society of Family Planning, is definitely discouraging news, .

A hotel formed for pregnant women in the eastern province of Hakkari has become an important sanctuary in the face of the frequently bad weather in the province. 

The "mother hotel" has served a total of 907 women ahead of birth who might not be able to reach a hospital in time due to bad weather that often closes roads.
